The faculty trip to China is just two

The faculty trip to China is just two weeks away, and now we have contact with some of our university counterparts in Dalian, I am starting to feel as if it is actually happening. Just checked out my regular travel suitcase and wondering if it will hang together for the trip. It has done a few circumnavigations of the planet, crossed the Pacific countless times, and bumped around a few too many carousels. Looked at new ones, but the choice is bewildering. Do I go with hard shell or soft sides, in-line skatewheels or those new golf-bally looking ones? Do I get the biggest possible cabin bag and risk having to check it on smaller airlines? Should I go for the basic black or opt for a purple one I can spot on the carousel?  Arggh! Maybe there is one more trip in the old bag after all.

My too-late recommendation would be for soft sides with in-line skate wheels!
